MOTS-c

MOTS-c 20 mg

MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide — encoded in the mitochondrial genome rather than the nuclear genome, which makes it unusual.

What it does

  • Improves insulin sensitivity and metabolic flexibility
  • Activates the AMPK pathway — echoing exercise and caloric restriction
  • A strong complement to the GLP-1 range
  • Weekly dosing

How it's delivered

20 mg cartridge. Fits the reusable pen. Subcutaneous, once weekly.

How MOTS-c works

MOTS-c is unusual before its mechanism is even considered: it is encoded in the mitochondrial genome rather than the nuclear one, making it a mitochondrial-derived peptide. It was only identified in 2015.

Its principal studied mechanism is activation of the AMPK pathway — the same cellular energy sensor that exercise and caloric restriction switch on. That is the basis for the shorthand that it echoes exercise in signal, though it plainly isn't a substitute for training.

Research covers insulin sensitivity, metabolic flexibility and exercise performance, which is why it pairs naturally with the GLP-1 range: appetite handled on one side, glucose handling on the other.

MOTS-c — common questions

What does MOTS-c do?
Research focuses on AMPK activation — the cellular energy pathway triggered by exercise and caloric restriction — with downstream interest in insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism and exercise performance.
Can it be run with a GLP-1?
The two are commonly paired in protocols because they address different things: GLP-1s work on appetite and intake, MOTS-c on metabolic handling.
Do I need a pen for this?
Yes. It's supplied as a standard 3 ml cartridge, which loads into the reusable click-pen in the Starter Kit or a single-use Disposable Pen. Nothing to reconstitute or measure — you load the cartridge, click the dose, attach a needle.
How fast is delivery in South Africa?
We ship nationwide with The Courier Guy, typically 1–3 working days to major centres and 2–4 to outlying areas. Cold-chain items go out in insulated packaging with tracking on every parcel. We ship within South Africa only.
Is this a medicine?
No. Everything in the range is supplied as a research compound, not a registered medicine, and nothing here is a prescription, diagnosis or treatment recommendation. Products are not made in South Africa — they are imported and distributed locally by SummerPeptides.
